The Internet Baseball League (IBL) is an continuous-ownership, electronic play-by-mail league which uses its own board game known as "The IBL Game" or TIG. The league begins its 16th season in 2007, and now consists of 24 teams playing 162 game schedules.
Each owner plays 81 games during a 27-week season, each of which is played against a Manager's Instruction Sheet. Each owner also prepares an MIS for that week's road games. Results are reported via E-mail over the Internet. As well, owners frequently play face to face online via our IRC server. In addition to the 24 team owners, there are several associate members. Associates are vital to the smooth operation of the league, as at various times during the year owners are not available to play the games scheduled for the week. Associates are then asked to play the games for the owner. Associates are also first in line to be selected for owning teams.
The league is always looking for people interested in joining either as an associate, co-owner or owner. If you're interested in more information about anything to do with the IBL or The IBL Game, please contact our Commissioner at commish@ibl.org
